Mexican coin collectors know collecting Mexican coins is exciting. With its combination of beautiful and intricate designs, storied history, and the oldest mint in North America (founded in 1535 by the Spanish to mint the gold they had obtained from the locals), Mexico mints some of the rarest coins ever produced.
For many years the Libertad was hardly noticed as many collectors flocked to buy the American and Canadian coins. But in the past few years, the Libertad has gained popularity as more collectors begin to realize it’s true value and collectability. By 2035, forty percent of the US population will be of Hispanic origin and this economic block will deliver more collectors to the Libertad. With more collectors coming on board each year and creating higher demand for a low mintage coin, prices and scarcity continues to escalates.
