Certified by NGC, NGC MS 4/5 3/5 Byzantine – Heraclius - AV Tremissis - 610-641 AD, was struck during the reign of Heraclius. He ruled from 610-641 AD. The coin was struck at the Constantinople Mint and is 16mm in diameter and weighs 1.44 grams.
The obverse shows the facing bust of Heraclius facing to the right. The reverse shows a Cross potent.
The coin is beautifully struck with attractive obverse portrait.
Overall an outstanding, high grade example. The tremissis is the smallest of the gold coin issues. They are small, thin and usually crudely engraved and poorly struck.
