Circular white metal medal; the face with two oval medallions, to the left the head of Louis Philippe, to the right Victoria, both in relief, each circumscribed with their titles, each encircled by an elaborate frame, a winged female figure above, crowned escutcheons below bearing the arms of France and of Great Britain, signed ‘ALLEN & MOORE F: et D: BIRMM:’ (Designed and made by Allen & Moore, Birmingham); the reverse inscribed ‘COMMEMORATIVE OF THE VISIT OF LOUIS PHILIPPE KING OF THE FRENCH TO VICTORIA QUEEN OF GREAT BRITAIN OCT : 1844’. Allen & Moore were based in Birmingham and active 1843-1854.
