Very Rare WWII Chinese Air Force Order of Rejuvenation, II Class with Ribbon

This is a very rare World War II Chinese Air Force Order of Rejuvenation, II Class badge. This is an award from the Republic of China instituted in 1937, circa the Kuomintang era (1928-1949). The award came in three classes, awarded to fighter pilots who attained certain minimum requirements regarding number of enemy aircraft destroyed and total completed missions as well as flight hours. The badge is in enameled silver and comes with a ribbon. The design is an intricate sunburst, the rays of which alternate with wings. The central enameled medallion shows five aircraft radiating outward from a flower.
VINTAGE: Circa World War II.
SIZE: Medal: approximately 5-3/8" in height and 2-7/8" in width; ribbon bar: approximately 7/16" in height and 1-5/16" in width.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Enameled silver, silk; silk-wrapped brass, clear celluloid.
ATTACHMENT: Ribbon, suspension ring; horizontal pin on ribbon bar.
MARKINGS: 942 and characters on reverse.
